Parents Guide for healthy communication with your child.

Many parents think that the main purpose of communication is to provide information to their children. Tell the children to eat vegetables and remind them to look both ways before crossing the street are expressions of love and care. This is to send information about diet and safety. But communication has another important function. Communication is a two-way bridge connecting the feelings of parents and children. Healthy communication is crucial to help the child develop a healthy personality and good relationships with parents and others. It gives the child the opportunity to be happy, safe and healthy in all circumstances. Why healthy communication important?
It helps your child:
- Feeling cared for and loved.
- Feeling that he (she) is important to you. - Feeling safe and not alone in their problems. - Learn to tell you his feelings and needs directly in words.
- learning to manage their feelings with care not to act without meditating (or overreact)
. - Talking to you openly in the future.

Healthy communication also helps you:

- To feel close to your child.
- Meeting the needs your child.
- Know that you have good tools to help your child grow.
What are the "material" to build healthy communication?
To build the bridge two-way communication is needed:

1. Be available. Children need to feel that their parents are affordable for them. This means being willing to make time for your child. Although they are 10 minutes of communication with each of her children alone strengthens the bridge of communication. Be available

means also 'tune' quickly and calmly to listen to your child or talk about something important. Being able to understand and talk about their own feelings and those of his son, is another important part of being affordable.

2. Listening:
Help your child to feel loved even when angry and you can not do anything to fix the problem. Ask your child for his ideas and feelings before you start talking about themselves. Also try to understand exactly what you are saying. What is telling is important to him, although it is not for you. No need to agree with what you are saying but listening helps to calm him down and he can hear you later.
3. Show empathy.
This means 'tune' with the child and let him know that you care about your feelings. You can show empathy but do not agree with him. Empathy relates to take into account the feelings, not who is right or wrong. Demonstrate empathy means finding out if you understand what your child feels.
4. Being a good 'messenger'. First would be a good 'listening'. If the child feels heard and heeded will be more willing to listen. Make sure you say, your tone of voice and what you do send the same message. For example, if you laugh when you say No! confuse your child and not know what you really want.

5. Use words to communicate to your child what you want him to do.
Even when he is marking the boundaries of a small child can use words as the subject. Use kind words when approving the child's behavior. For example, you can say 'I'm so happy' when your child puts toys. It is helpful to use the 'you' and highlight the good behavior (for example: 'You did your job well "). Help yourself to appreciate. Self-esteem helps children cope with bad times. Use phrases such as 'I' or 'me' to tell your child what to UD. dislikes about their behavior. For example: "When I found you, I went to bed worried and angry 'rather than speak loudly or in an angry tone,' disappeared! Where were you? " Tell your child what you feel and think. Do not tell him what he (she) should feel 0 thinking.

6. Be a good role model.
Young children learn best by copying what their parents do what they are told. Children will copy your form of communication. If UD. it uses many words to feelings, will help your child to do the same. When parents express feelings instead of shouting, or hurt, or putting a name, children learn that words are a better means of dealing with strong feelings. Expressing feelings rather than acting helps children to be controlled. You can help your child learn what words are appropriate in the home and at school.

The other side of healthy communication: verbal abuse.

Children usually replenished quickly when injured. For example, cry when he falls and scrapes his knee, but after 10 minutes running and will be forgotten. The same can happen if someone at school puts a name. If this happens once, it's likely to forget it.

2. Violate the limits of the child, yelling and scaring to punish or abandon it and lie. Sometimes strong emotions of their parents are too much for the child can handle. Children build walls between themselves and their parents when this happens. Children who are started, they hide or cover their ears with their hands often are trying to guard against such strong emotions. They are generally not trying to be disrespectful.
Children are not small adults. Can not be closed to the cries and screams as do adults. The loud talking or yelling in front of children makes them feel scared and very insecure. Hurts emotions such as physical abuse hurts their bodies and emotions. The screaming and loud talking are even more hurtful when your child is tired, sick, hungry or afraid of something. The smaller worse.
Children believe in the threats of punishment or abandonment. The threats frighten children more than you can imagine and do not help the best performance.
The lie also violates the limits of their child. The children will believe the lies because they do not have enough information to distinguish between lies and truth.

3. Silence. Children resent long silences (hours or days). Do not know what these silences mean and 'read' horrible things in the silence of their parents.
Silence sends a powerful message of anger or disgust. It does feel confused and helpless. If you're quiet because you are depressed it is best to tell the child that you are sad or sick and that he is not the cause. When you are silent is not a good messenger.

The silence of the parents can be:

- Being afraid to say something to make things worse.
- Do not know what to say or do.
- have such feelings, anger or sadness that can not speak.
- Being sick.
- Its own silence parents used to control them.

verbal abuse from parents is produced by: - never learned healthy communication.

- Do not know other ways to control the behavior of their children. - do not know that hurt children verbal abuse and that this makes things worse.

- have not learned to manage their own feelings.
- are under great stress.
- think their children should develop 'leather hard' to survive.
- were treated in the same way by their parents, teachers and other adults.
to prevent verbal abuse, know how to handle stress and anger

Parenting is hard work. There are times when you feel so much stress that you can not think more. In those moments, the cries of the baby, a tantrum of] child or school that refuses to do homework can push one to the limit. It is important to find ways to encourage your child to behave, they do not hurt their feelings. It is also important to prevent stress and find calm when you are stressed, so as not to do or say something harmful to the child.
These are things you can do to calm down:

- Breathe deeply several times.

- Wait 5 minutes before talking to your child.

- Try find the right word to his feelings. Tell or write itself.
- Share your feelings with your spouse (a) or another adult. Call a friend.
- Keep your eye on this. Do not add the above problems.

Parents are under great stress may have trouble controlling feelings like anger, fear, frustration, failure. Will not realize that his anger is a reaction to be worried, confused, hurt or overwhelmed by stress. For example, you worry if your child was lost in the supermarket, if you were in a hurry, you can get angry when you find it and yell instead of saying 'I was worried about can not find '
. When you can learn to calm down and understand what really makes you angry you can avoid hurting your child with your anger.
Some people find that the method of 'rethink' helps you control your anger before doing or saying something that might repent. Rethink:

- Acknowledge your feelings.

- Empathize with the other person.

- Think about the situation differently. Use humor.

- Listen to what the other person says.

- Integrate your love of annoying thoughts.

- Observe the reactions of his body by feelings of anger and calm down.

- Keep your eye on the present problem.

- Using the 'rethink' can help you control your anger before you punish your child.

If these or other methods are not calm, try talking to her husband (a), pediatrician, counselor, pastor, relative or close friend. There is nothing to be ashamed to admit you need help controlling their anger. All parents feel angry and frustrated with their children. Asking for help is always better than losing control.

Scorpio Stopped Talking To Me

Parenting Guide for Parents ......

From: Grafica Cristiana

"It's
forbidden to cross the desert at this time of year, "said the official Mauritania seriously. No Arab would dare to do so.

"You're right," replied the traveler, "but we are followers of Christ, and Christians are crazy.

was how Michael Asher, English writer, and Maria Antonietta, his Italian wife, undertook the journey.

eight thousand kilometers traveled by camel across the Sahara, from Mauritania to reach the Nile in his book Sahara
Hardcastle
Michael Asher described the tremendous difficulties of the journey. No Westerner had ever dared to do before. The dreadful desert, with its incredible heat, transformed what began as a rapturous event in a distressing odyssey. But made the trip. Served their purpose.

Of the many experiences that the author emphasizes in his book, there is one that we should consider. Here His words: "Two people who were in Mauritania, when we reached the Nile we had merged into one."

often shock in misfortune separate marriages, because they love to be cool, arising out of highlighting accusations and recriminations. So many people are convinced that economic scarcity is a threat to marriage.
But what happened in the case of Michael and Maria Antonietta? They suffered untold hardships. The troubles of these months of uncertainty had to be completely extinguished love, but it was not. The opposite happened, as they say: "The terrible desert we merged into one person. "
What circumstances in the desert had no normal situations in our lives? The undeniable fact that there was no alternative. Alone in the wilderness, they had to turn to. There were only two people, in their grief they had to find their affection for each other.

Instead, many of us if we allow an alternative. If the marriage did not we work out, we divorced because we have that option. Therein lies the failure of many marriages.

no alternative. When we determine that our marriage will be "up death do us part ', with it set its strength. Christ in our home produce that environment. If we ask Him to be Lord of our life, our marriage will also be ensuring its permanence. In this happy state there is no alternative that is worth.

Unfortunately many people think that this is their marriage. Use criticism, nagging, yelling and constant conflict with the hope of forcing his partner to change. The trouble is that, feeling criticized, often the spouse accuses the couple of the worst offenses to defend. Both the wife and husband end up convinced that the other has to change things at home improve.

This type of attitude leads to negative patterns that come to destroy the marriage. Some examples of these are:
05860007_filtered People begin to notice the slightest fault of their partner. Therefore the minimum things become major conflicts. Both spouses accuse endless. lawsuits increase.
Sadness, anger and negative emotions reign in the home. Both people feel physically, mentally and spiritually weary of the constant critical.
no peace at home and love every day fades.
The spouse ignores his own faults and is convinced his partner is the one that has to change. So either change. begin to doubt whether the marriage will work and end up thinking that the only solution is separation and divorce.
Quite a few couples who fall into this vicious cycle. The trouble is that no matter how much energy and effort invested in changing the spouse: no change occurs. This is because it really change our spouse is not our role. Change does not come by force but by choice.
Marriage is not a state of domination where things are made pursuant to the will of one person. In fact, marriage is a state of co-dependency. Both husband and wife need each other to form a home and according to the will of God. The Bible teaches that the husband and wife are one. Being one does not come to force, but each one I willingly sacrifice for the good of the U.S..
If you really want to see change is the marriage we suggest the following:
Avoid criticizing your spouse. The constant criticism and complaints not bring the change you want in the marriage. Let things of the past in the past. Forgive and do not mention what has already been resolved.
If you can not forgive, ask yourself why not and ask for help from God that can forgive. Avoid words that are hard to forget, such as: "I do not stand, do not I love you, do not respect you, and do not believe you, do not forgive you, everything is your fault", etc. Be honest and admit the mistakes that you have contributed to problems at home.
Spend some time alone to meditate and ask yourself if your expectations of your spouse are realistic. Many times we demand too much spouse because we want to fill a need. If this is the case, talk to your partner and together we ask God that He is the one who comes to fill the void that your partner can not fill. Use positive words and look at the good of marriage and not just evil.
  • Instead of spending their strength in trying to change your husband or wife, use that time to talk to God and ask that you first change yourself. Set an example and be the first to change.
  • hope
These tips come to bring positive changes in your home. By letting the Holy Spirit, humility, forgiveness and honesty come to change the lives of their marriage, allow changes to be made at home in an environment that honors and pleases God. meditation texts:
Ephesians 5:21-26: Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is head of his wife as Christ is the head and savior of the church, which is his body. Just as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it to make it holy. He purified by washing with water through the word.
Colossians 3:12-13 - Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with love compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, so as to tolerate each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against another. Just as the Lord forgave forgave you. 18010033_filtered
I Peter 3:8-9 - In short, live in harmony with each other, share joys and sorrows, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil evil or insult with insult but with blessing, because to this you were called to inherit a blessing.
